Dear
_____,
My name is ______ and I am currently a ____ at Marquette in the College of
________. I am also a (English major) and am in Beth Godbee’s “Writing for the
Professions” class. As you may know, our class is responsible for the English
Department’s newsletter, an online news source for students, staff, alumni/ae,
and other audiences. One of my responsibilities, along with my co-authoring
partners _____, is to profile a faculty member. As a class, we’ve decided to
feature faculty on leave or on sabbatical. We are interested in the research you
are doing this semester and would like to share this with the members of the
Marquette community.
Would you be available to answer a few questions about your work while on leave? I
have included a list of questions below. We understand you may not be able to
make it to campus to sit down for an interview, so please feel free to email
your answers, unless you would prefer to speak over the phone or to meet in
person. We are happy to work with your schedule.
We would also like to include a photo of you in your profile, so if you have a
favorite picture or professional headshot, please send that with your answers.
Thank you for taking this time to support our coursework and the development of the
department’s newsletter.
Sincerely,
____________
